The Badge Contest!!

So, I talked about a contest for badges - and so I wanted to put out some info on it. First, let me say thanks to all those who said they would help out - especially Sammy and Andy's mom who is helping with a new official badge, and also a special shout out to Huffle Mawson who voulnteered her mom to help out with my backlog! Now, you will see I said that Sammy and Andy's mom is making a new official badge, and well, she is. It is great because she is making one that still has everyone's picture, and has everyone's info (member, honorary member, friends of member), and well, I just think it is super sweet of her.

HOWEVER, I still thought it would be fun to have a logo contest - just to see everyones ideas. Will there be a prize - probably not. BUT you will still get all the glory, and we will put it on the site! So, if you have an idea, please submit it - the contest is going to run for a while (til November 1) and I will remind people every once in a while. In the mean time keep and eye on the sidebar - the badges will be changing over to the new style gradually - I think you will really like it (and if you get the chance, and haven't met them, be sure to visit Sammy and Andy at the link above - and throw in some thanks for their awesome mom!!) And the good news is that those of you who I have owed badges to for like a million months, will get one!!

(Oh, and if you need access to the site for posting let me know in the comments - I think I emailed everyone but I know that sometimes people miss the invite email and I need to resend it. Right now I am showing no one as "pending" so hopefully everyone has access that needs it!)

A few notes about the contest - If you look around you will see we try to stick with one font for the logos and pictures (it isn't available to use for text - which is annoying). That font is called Blippo. If you head over to our Google Site HERE you can download the file if you want to use it - but it is not required. Just go to the item in the sidebar that says NKC related files and click on it. In that same area is something called "Flaming Text". That is the site I use to make our basic text logos - there is info on there and you can follow that link if you would like to check it out - it is pretty cool and I have used it for years (my original House of Cats logo was made there two with a bit of photoshop help - really basic photoshop help that is). I tend to use a lot of purple - you don't have to but you can. I can't give you the color code because I can't remember which one I picked - I should have paid attention. Now you can use all this info, some of it or none of it - it is up to you!

Once all the entries are in I will try to get them all together and have a poll up to vote - possibly over at the Google site, with a link from here, because that is a good way to add stuff without using up blog space! But that info will come later.

So come on, join the fun and come up with a badge! What is the worst thing that could happen if you enter - well, wait, we are a Naughty kitty club, so I guess there could end up being some naughtiness involved!!
